Cohorts & Tagging

Cohorts let you group users with a custom tag - a pilot group, a region, a business unit, or any segment you want to track separately.

What a cohort is

A cohort is a named tag applied to a set of users. Once defined, the Cohort Adoption report shows adoption for each cohort.

Creating a cohort

  1. Open the Cohorts page from the navigation.
  2. Create a new cohort and give it a name.
  3. Assign users with the bulk email-list form - paste in a list of email addresses.
  4. Save.

💡 Cohorts are assigned by bulk email list by design - only a handful of admins ever manage them, and end users never log in.

â„šī¸ You can have up to 25 cohorts per tenant. Adding more users to an existing cohort is always allowed; once you reach 25, delete a cohort before creating a new one.

Viewing cohort adoption

Open the Cohort Adoption report to compare adoption across your cohorts side by side.

Ideas for cohorts

  • Pilot group - the first team to get Copilot
  • Region - EMEA vs. Americas vs. APAC
  • Champions - your internal power users
  • Renewal-risk teams - groups you want to watch closely
