Quick Start Guide

Run your first contract risk scan in under 5 minutes.


Before you begin

You’ll need:

  • ✅ Microsoft 365 account
  • ✅ Access to Microsoft 365 Copilot (recommended), or the ability to upload a file in Copilot Chat
  • ✅ A contract to analyze (Word, PDF, or text)

💡 No Copilot license? You can still use Contract Risk Scanner for Microsoft 365 by uploading documents directly into the prompt. The agent works either way.


Step 1 - Install the agent

Install from the Microsoft Marketplace:

  1. Go to the Microsoft Marketplace listing (coming soon)
  2. Search for Contract Risk Scanner for Microsoft 365
  3. Click Get it now
  4. Approve the installation in your tenant

Step 2 - Open the agent

  1. Open Microsoft 365 Copilot
  2. From the agent picker, select Contract Risk Scanner for Microsoft 365
  3. You’ll see a welcome message with suggested prompts

Step 3 - Upload a contract

Drag or upload a contract file into the chat. Supported formats:

  • .docx (Word) - preferred
  • .pdf (text-based)
  • Pasted text

📌 Scanned-image PDFs may not be readable. Use a text-based version when possible.


Step 4 - Run a scan

Try one of these prompts:

  • “Run a Quick Scan on this contract”
  • “Do a negotiation prep review”
  • “Vendor risk review focused on data handling”

The agent will ask which mode to use if you don’t specify one.


Step 5 - Review the output

You’ll get a structured report including:

  • ✅ Executive summary
  • ✅ Risk score (0–100) with recommendation band
  • ✅ Detailed risk register
  • ✅ Missing or ambiguous clauses
  • ✅ Negotiation questions
  • ✅ Downloadable CSV and JSON files

Step 6 - Export and track

Download the risk_register.csv file and use it in your reporting workflow (for example, Power BI or your internal analytics stack).
